Why Volunteer?
The Let’s Go Fishing Hodag Chapter in Rhinelander, WI is powered by the passion and generosity of our volunteers. Together, we create unforgettable moments by taking seniors, veterans, and youth fishing or cruising on the peaceful waters of Boom Lake—moments filled with smiles, stories, and fresh air.
If you enjoy being on the water and have a heart for helping others, you can make a real difference as part of a two‑person Let’s Go Fishing volunteer team. Each outing includes two adult volunteers—one to captain the pontoon and one to assist guests—working together to ensure a safe, welcoming, and joyful experience. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and comfortable supporting guests on the boat.
No experience? No problem. We provide both classroom and on‑the‑water training to help you feel confident and prepared. We welcome couples, families, and individuals who love fishing, boating, and giving back. A few hours on the water can mean the world to someone—and it just might become the highlight of your week, too.
Prefer to stay on shore? There are countless ways to get involved. From parades and fundraising events to community presentations and behind‑the‑scenes support, every role helps our mission thrive. Whatever your skills or interests, there’s a meaningful place for you at the LGF Hodag Chapter.
