Welcome to the Let’s Go Fishing Hodag Chapter, located in Oneida County, WI – the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods! Rhinelander, with a population of around 8,000 residents, serves as the retail hub for northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan, bringing the year-round population to approximately 50,000.
Nestled in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Rhinelander is renowned for its outdoor recreation, charming shops and restaurants, and rich local history. The legendary Hodag, Rhinelander’s official symbol and local high school mascot, is a prominent figure throughout the area.
The Rhinelander area offers a variety of attractions year-round for visitors. Explore the Pioneer Park Logging Museum Complex. Visit ArtStart galleries for a dose of culture. Or enjoy live performances at the Hodag Country Festival and other local events. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at Northwood Golf Course, while outdoor lovers can take advantage of the area’s trails for biking, hiking, and winter activities. There’s truly something for everyone.
Rhinelander’s lakes are famous for their excellent fishing opportunities, earning the community the title of the “Ice Fishing Capital of the World.” Whether it’s summer or winter, the fishing in the area is spectacular, with lakes like Boom Lake, a large flowage on the Wisconsin River, located right in the heart of Rhinelander, and many more just a short drive away.
